A deck that focuses on creature synergy and card advantage would benefit from including Vesuvan Drifter, as it offers the flexibility of transforming into a powerful creature from the top of the library. However, in competitive Magic: the Gathering formats, there are more efficient shapeshifter cards like Clone or Phyrexian Metamorph that offer similar effects at a lower cost, making them better options. While Vesuvan Drifter has its niche uses, it may not see widespread play in highly optimized decks.
