Absorbing Man (1GU) fits best in Simic (blue‑green) midrange or value decks that can reliably present high‑impact artifacts, enchantments, or lands to copy—think decks built around powerful utility lands (Field of the Dead, Nykthos, Boseiju), mana engines (The Great Henge), or value enchantments (Rhystic Study–style effects in non-rotating formats), since he effectively doubles your best permanent each turn while still being a vigilant 4/4 body. He’s especially appealing in Commander, where there are more splashy copy targets and longer games to exploit repeated transformations, and in ramp shells that can ensure strong targets early.
