Maular would suit a green-based “seven-mana tribal” Commander deck: load it with ramp, basic lands of every color, and expensive color-pie-breaking threats such as Eldrazi, colossal dinosaurs, and large multicolor creatures, then turn one attack into a lethal swing through its doubling trigger. Its Rulebreaker ability is unusually powerful because it bypasses commander color-identity restrictions for qualifying creatures, though the deck still needs enough mana fixing and ramp to cast them; green is excellent at this, but the restriction prevents using most off-color noncreature support spells. For a more consistently powerful established Commander option, `Jodah, the Unifier` is generally better for legendary seven-plus-mana creatures because it gives full five-color access and generates free spells, while `Animar, Soul of Elements` is better for creature-heavy high-cost decks thanks to repeatable cost reduction and protection.
