Practiced Scrollsmith would fit best in a Boros (red-white) midrange or aggressive deck that can reliably stock its graveyard with impactful noncreature, nonland spells—such as burn, removal, or cheap card-advantage pieces—since it effectively “rebuy” casts one for a turn while also applying pressure with first strike. It’s especially attractive in decks using looting effects, discard outlets, or self-mill to control what’s in the graveyard, and it plays well in spell-heavy aggro or midrange shells that want redundancy on key interaction. However, compared to established options like **Snapcaster Mage** (far more flexible and instant-speed), **Lurrus of the Dream-Den** (repeatable recursion), or **Seasoned Pyromancer** (card filtering plus board presence), Scrollsmith is likely weaker unless its body is aggressively costed, because it only hits noncreature, nonland cards and only gives a short casting window.
