The Bird Champion would fit best in a Simic (green-blue) Bird tribal or token-swarm Commander deck, especially one built around proliferating creature counts and protecting a board state until it snowballs—commanders like Kangee, Sky Warden (if splashing white for Bant), Derevi, Empyrial Tactician, or even Edric, Spymaster of Trest could support the strategy, though pure UG Bird tribal is somewhat shallow compared to other tribes. Its upkeep trigger scales explosively if you already have a few Birds, making it strong in go-wide token builds with Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, or Adrix and Nev, Twincasters, and the “can’t lose” clause gives it a Laboratory Maniac–style inevitability once you hit twelve Birds; however, it does nothing the turn it enters, has defender, and requires a developed board, making it slow and win-more in competitive environments.
