However, there are better options available in the current Magic: the Gathering card pool, such as Carnage Tyrant or Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, which offer more impactful abilities and effects for a similar mana cost. As a result, Quilled Slagwurm may not see much play in competitive decks, but could still find a home in casual or budget decks for its flavorful Phyrexian wurm theme.
