However, the drawback of dealing damage to yourself each turn may not be worth it, as there are better options like Goblin Guide or Monastery Swiftspear that provide similar aggressive pressure without hurting yourself. Overall, Ravenous Giant may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its self-damaging effect and the availability of better alternatives.
