This card, Gaze of Granite, would greatly benefit a control deck looking to wipe the board of small creatures and other nonland permanents. While it can be powerful in the right situation, it may be too costly and slow for competitive play compared to more efficient board wipes like Damnation or Toxic Deluge, which offer better value for their mana cost and are more commonly seen in top-tier decks.
