This card, Turbulent Dreams, could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting the opponent's board state by returning multiple nonland permanents to their hand. However, the high cost of discarding X cards as an additional cost may limit its effectiveness compared to similar cards like Cyclonic Rift, which provides a similar effect at a lower cost and without the card disadvantage. Overall, Turbulent Dreams may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its high cost and better alternatives available.
