Will Riker, Assuming Command fits a white creature-focused Commander deck that values +1/+1 counters, particularly a Human or Officer-themed build, but at five mana for what is effectively a one-time +1/+1 counter it is far below the usual power level and should not see competitive or optimized casual play. Even in a Star Trek flavor deck, cards such as `Good-Fortune Unicorn`, `Luminarch Aspirant`, `Felidar Retreat`, or `Cathars' Crusade` provide substantially more counter value, while `Basri's Lieutenant` offers a stronger body and relevant resilience; if the goal is simply to strengthen a creature, `Luminarch Aspirant` is notably better because it costs two mana and adds counters every combat. Riker is playable only for theme, character attachment, or a deliberately low-powered environment, and would need additional stats, repeatable counter generation, an anthem effect, or a meaningful Officer/Human payoff to justify a normal deck slot.
