About Ice Floe

Ice Floe, Land, designed by Jeff A. Menges first released in Jun, 1995 in the set Ice Age and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 33.87.

This card, Ice Floe, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on stalling the opponent's creatures and preventing them from attacking. While Ice Floe offers a unique ability to tap down attacking creatures without flying, there are more efficient options available in the current Magic: the Gathering card pool, such as Maze of Ith or Maze of Shadows, which provide similar effects with additional benefits. Thus, Ice Floe may not see much play in competitive decks, but could still be a fun inclusion in casual or thematic decks.

Ice Floe doesn’t track the creature’s controller. If the affected creature changes controllers, Ice Floe will prevent it from being untapped during its new controller’s untap step.

If the ability resolves, then the creature gains flying later, Ice Floe’s effect will not end. (The ability checks whether the creature has flying only at the time you activate it and the time it resolves.)
