A deck that focuses on graveyard synergies or has a high number of cards with powerful enter-the-battlefield effects could benefit from Tunneler Wurm, as it provides a repeatable way to regenerate a big creature. However, there are likely better options available, such as creatures with built-in protection or evasion, like Thrun, the Last Troll or Vorapede, which offer more immediate value and resilience. Tunneler Wurm may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high mana cost and the availability of more efficient options.
