About Scute Mob

Scute Mob, Creature — insect, designed by Zoltan Boros & Gabor Szikszai first released in Oct, 2009 in the set Zendikar and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of £ 0.47.

This card would be beneficial in a ramp or landfall deck that focuses on quickly ramping up land count to trigger its ability and create a powerful creature. While Scute Mob can be strong in the right deck, there are better options like Tarmogoyf or Knight of the Reliquary that offer more immediate impact or utility. Whether Scute Mob should see play depends on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck it's being considered for.

Rules

10/01/09

Scute Mob’s ability has an “intervening ‘if’ clause.” That means (1) the ability won’t trigger at all unless you control five or more lands as your upkeep starts, and (2) the ability will do nothing if you control fewer than five lands by the time it resolves.
