This card, Bereavement, would be beneficial in a black control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's hand size and resources. However, there are better options like The Eldest Reborn or Liliana's Caress, which provide more impactful discard effects. Bereavement could see play in a budget deck or as a sideboard option against green-heavy decks, but may not be a top choice in competitive play due to its limited impact compared to other cards available.
