About Old Thrush
Old Thrush, Creature — bird, designed by Francisco Miyara first released in Jul, 2026 in the set The Hobbit.
Old Thrush is best suited to casual, budget-friendly white or Azorius flying/ETB (“blink”) decks that want a small evasive creature, a little life padding, and reliable access to a basic land; it is particularly reasonable when you need to hit a land drop rather than accelerate immediately. However, putting the land on top rather than onto the battlefield or into hand makes it slow, so stronger alternatives usually exist: `Pilgrim's Eye` finds a basic land directly to hand, `Kor Cartographer` puts a Plains onto the battlefield tapped, `Knight of the White Orchid` can ramp when behind on lands, and `Solemn Simulacrum` provides actual ramp plus a card when it dies. Old Thrush can see play in low-power casual bird, blink, or theme decks, especially if it is a favorite card, but it is generally not efficient enough for optimized Commander, Pioneer, Modern, or competitive formats.
