Remand is a versatile card that can benefit control decks looking to disrupt their opponent's game plan while also maintaining card advantage. Its ability to counter a spell and bounce it back to the opponent's hand, all while drawing a card, can be very powerful in tempo-based strategies. While there may be other counterspells with different advantages, such as Mana Leak for stricter mana requirements or Cryptic Command for added flexibility, Remand's unique combination of effects makes it a strong contender for inclusion in decks that prioritize tempo and card advantage.
