About Render Silent

Render Silent, Instant, designed by Kev Walker first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 1.13.

A control deck focused on disrupting your opponent's game plan would benefit from including Render Silent in its strategy, as it provides a powerful tempo swing by countering a spell and preventing further spellcasting in the same turn. While there may be other counterspells with different advantages, such as Cryptic Command's versatility, Render Silent's unique effect of shutting down your opponent's spells for the turn can be particularly effective in certain matchups and is worth considering for inclusion in the deck.

A spell that “can’t be countered” is a legal target for Render Silent. The spell won’t be countered when Render Silent resolves, but that spell’s controller won’t be able to cast spells for the rest of the turn.
