About Searing Barrage

Searing Barrage, Instant, designed by None first released in Sep, 2019 in the set Throne of Eldraine and was printed exactly in 3 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0.01.

A red burn deck focused on dealing direct damage to creatures and opponents would benefit from using Searing Barrage, especially if it can consistently meet the adamant condition for additional damage to the creature's controller. While there may be more efficient burn spells available, such as Lightning Bolt or Skewer the Critics, Searing Barrage could still see play in decks looking to maximize damage output and pressure opponents quickly.

Adamant effects check what mana was actually spent to cast a spell. If an effect allows you to spend mana “as though it were mana” of any color or type, that allows you to spend mana you couldn’t otherwise spend, but it doesn’t change what mana you spent to cast the spell.

If an instant or sorcery spell has an adamant ability, you perform the spell’s instructions in order. You don’t perform the adamant instruction before the spell resolves or before any other effects printed above it.

Searing Barrage’s adamant ability causes it to deal additional damage. It doesn’t replace the damage dealt to the target creature.
