With so many new tidbits about the new Magic: The Gathering The Lord of the Rings set, it is easy to miss a couple of more curious details about the release. This Secret Lair is one of them.
Alongside all the new cards showcased today on a livestream, Wizards of the Coast also announced via their official website that they would release a new Secret Lair drop as well, based on one of the most controversial pieces of media made for the famous franchise.

This drop is called the More Adventures in Middle-Earth drop, and it is based on the 1978 animated fantasy film The Lord of the Rings. The movie was directed by Ralph Bakshi, with a screenplay by Chris Conkling and Peter S. Beagle, and all, of course, was based on the original work by J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
What is so interesting about this movie is that it has some of the most... divisive, to say the least, visuals, out of all the adaptations made of The Lord of the Rings. The depictions of the characters, in particular, are very different from all other adaptations.
Here are some of the character adaptations from the 1978 movie:
So, suffice to say, it will be a very interesting Secret Lair.
Though the contents and illustrations haven't been released yet, we know Non-foils will cost US$29.99 and Traditional Foils will cost US$39.99, and it will go on sale June 26th at 9 AM Pacific time.
Anyone interested in this unbelievable Secret Lair should keep their wallets and their eyes ready for June 26th. More information can be found in the official website.
