About Thassa's Oracle

Thassa's Oracle, Creature — merfolk wizard, designed by Jesper Ejsing first released in Jan, 2020 in the set Theros Beyond Death and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It see play in 5 formats: Vintage, Legacy, Modern, Commander and Pioneer. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 260.03. It's a key card in 36 combos.

Thassa's Oracle is a powerful card that can be beneficial in decks that focus on controlling the board and have a high devotion to blue. Decks that utilize a lot of blue mana symbols in their permanents and spells would benefit the most from its ability to potentially win the game by manipulating the top of the library. While there may be other cards that offer similar win conditions or card manipulation effects, Thassa's Oracle is a strong contender for decks looking to close out games quickly with a blue-heavy strategy and should definitely see play in those specific archetypes.

Rules

01/24/20

If an activated ability or triggered ability has an effect that depends on your devotion to a color, you count the number of mana symbols of that color among the mana costs of permanents you control as the ability resolves. The permanent with that ability will be counted if it’s still on the battlefield at that time.

01/24/20

If your devotion to blue is zero at the time the triggered ability of Thassa’s Oracle resolves, you don’t look at or move any cards in your library. If you have no cards in your library, you win the game.

01/24/20

Mana symbols in the text boxes of permanents you control don’t count toward your devotion to any color.
