El Portal del Justiciar sería beneficioso en un mazo basado en criaturas blancas o agresivas en Magic: the Gathering, ya que proporciona una manera de proteger a una criatura clave de hechizos de eliminación o daño de combate y al mismo tiempo le otorga el primer golpe para una posible ventaja de combate. Sin embargo, hay mejores cartas como Cloudshift o Eerie Interlude que ofrecen efectos similares con beneficios adicionales, como hacer parpadear a varias criaturas o protegerlas de los borrados del tablero, lo que las convierte en opciones más versátiles. El Portal del Justiciar aún podría usarse en estrategias específicas que se basan en proteger y mejorar criaturas individuales, pero puede que no sea una opción de primer nivel en mazos competitivos.

Once the exiled creature returns, it’s considered a new object with no relation to the object that it was. Auras attached to the exiled creature will be put into their owners’ graveyards. Equipment attached to the exiled creature will become unattached and remain on the battlefield. Any counters on the exiled creature will cease to exist.

The returned card won’t be the target of any spells or abilities that targeted it before. Spells that don’t target, such as Kaya’s Wrath, may still affect it.
