The decklists of the sixteen contestants for World Championship were mistakenly made available on the MTGMelee website this morning, three days before the start of the greatest competitive event of the season.
This accident had negative repercussions between event participants and other famous players:
“The fact that WOTC can still surprise me even after all these years definitely reflects on the ability for hope to overcome experience”
- Alexander Hayne

“Worlds decks getting leaked is very upsetting. For the most prestigious and most important event of the year, this type of mistake simply cannot happen”
- Seth Manfield
“They did say the World would know”
- Gabriel Nassif
“I wish I was not surprised that Worlds decks leaked early, but I'm not.”
- Saffron Olive
MTGMelee corrected the error a few hours later, closing the event decklists and commenting on what happened:
“A miscommunication from the Melee team resulted in the #MTGWorlds decklists being published early this morning. We know that this mistake affects each of the players. We apologize to everyone affected by this error.”
- MTGMelee
However, several Twitter accounts posted screenshots of each player's decks. The screenshots below were taken by the account Fireshoes, a metagame and decklist analyst and content creator.
The World Championship Metagame is as follows:
4 Grixis Epiphany
3 Izzet Epiphany
3 Mono-Green Aggro
2 Mono-White Aggro
2 Izzet Dragons
1 Gruul Magda (splash Blue)
1 Azorius Aggro
