About Mulldrifter

Mulldrifter, Creature — elemental, designed by Wayne England first released in Jun, 2002 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 29 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Pauper and Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 1.29.

Mulldrifter is a versatile card that would benefit control or midrange decks looking to generate card advantage and maintain board presence. While Mulldrifter's ability to draw two cards upon entering the battlefield is powerful, its evoke cost of {2}{U} allows for a more efficient way to trigger its effect. In comparison to Mulldrifter, cards like Sphinx of Foresight or Torrential Gearhulk offer similar benefits with added value, making them potentially better choices depending on the deck's strategy and mana curve. However, Mulldrifter's flexibility and synergy with sacrifice or flicker effects make it a strong contender for inclusion in decks seeking card advantage and flying threats.

Rules

03/19/21

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you’re paying (such as an evoke cost), add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined by only its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast that spell was.

07/13/18

Evoke is an alternative cost to cast the spell with evoke. It can’t be combined with other alternative costs, such as casting a spell “without paying its mana cost.”

07/13/18

If a creature with evoke enters the battlefield without being cast, you won’t have to sacrifice it.
