Edge of Eternitieslink outside website is coming. While we're already in full swing with previews and spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man, the current set, which comes out on August 1st, is the space opera expansion for Magic: The Gathering, bringing a dozen new cards and mechanics to the game, some of which have potential for Pauper.

In this article, we present five lists using new cards from Edge of Eternities. Some take advantage of inclusions like Cryogen Relic with Ghostly Flicker or Nutrient Block with Kenku Artificer, while we also explore the possibility of some blue spells in Faerie decks or Temporal Intervention in Orzhov Blade, as well as Luxknight Breacher, which functions as a "go big" card with potential combos alongside Temur Battle Rage in White Aggro variants.

Five Pauper Decklists with Edge of Eternities

Dimir Affinity

Cryogen Relic and Nutrient Block offer some new options for experimenting with different Affinity variants. Since Final Fantasylink outside website, a Dimir version with Black Mage's Rod has yielded some results and, with Edge of Eternities, Relic has become an excellent complement to Ichor Wellspring, to the point of replacing it due to its interactions with Ghostly Flicker.

Furthermore, with Nutrient Block being indestructible, Kenku Artificer has gained new targets and also benefits from Flicker effects to transform Blood Fountain tokens or even cards like Black Mage's Rod into 3/3 creatures with Flying, allowing you to pressure your opponent from another front beyond the beatdown with Myr Enforcer and direct damage with Pactdoll Terror.

Dimir Flicker

I feel like Ghostly Flicker is stuck in the past if it's not in Familiar or Tron lists, but Cryogen Relic and the Black Mage package offer a reason to try revisiting these archetypes in Dimir colors.

Unlike the Affinity version, here we follow a more Control-oriented and less artifact-oriented plan, focusing instead on Archaeomancer and Murmuring Mystic for our victory. Temporal Intervention could be an interesting option in this list with Snuff Out.

Mono Blue Faeries

Mono Blue Faeries is already quite solid and consistent in its current version, but there are a few cards worth considering in Edge of Eternities: Mental Modulation, if played on your turn, functions as a new one-mana cantrip that also interacts with the battlefield, paving the way for board pressure. It's a remnant of Fire // Ice that seems more effective in what Mono Blue proposes.

Until today, there also wasn't a 1/1 Flying and Flash creature in the format that had an extra ability in Pauper, and Illvoi Galeblade is a complementary threat option that interacts with the non-human specter of Of One Mind. Cryoshatter is another viable option in the maindeck or sideboard due to its interaction with Mental Modulation or Harrier Strix.

Orzhov Bounce

Temporal Intervention is one of the most talked-about cards in Edge of Eternities due to comparisons to Thoughtseize that it has if we trigger the Void ability, which is relatively easy in Pauper: between Kor Skyfisher, Moon-Circuit Hacker, Ephemerate, and cheap removals like Snuff Out, we can cast an unconditional discard spell for Magic Symbol B.

In this list, we're betting on the current Orzhov Glintblade setup to enable Intervention consistently, whether with Kor Skyfisher and Glint Hawk, removals, or activating Lembas / Grim Bauble on the same turn we cast the card.

Boros Luxknight

Of all the cards in the new set, Luxknight Breacher is probably the most fun and/or innovative to build around. We've already had creatures that increase their power based on the number of other creatures in play, and also some that work with cards in the graveyard or artifacts in play. It works with both artifacts and creatures, gaining a permanent power boost when it enters rather than a constant increase or decrease.

It interacts with cards like Thraben Inspector, Resolute Reinforcements, or even Battle Screech, not to mention artifact lands, and can become a combo-kill with Temur Battle Rage.

On the other hand, four mana for a card that doesn't protect itself and doesn't generate any value is a bit too much to focus on in a list dedicated exclusively to it, so we used a Boros Tokens/Boros Aggro shell with a copy of Temur Battle Rage for possible combos with the card, while the splash of Magic Symbol R also offers Makeshift Munitions as both interaction and reach!
