About Silent Departure

Silent Departure, Sorcery, designed by John Avon first released in Sep, 2011 in the set Innistrad and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0.03.

This card, Silent Departure, would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on tempo and disrupting the opponent's board state. It can be used to bounce key threats back to their owner's hand, buying time and setting back the opponent's game plan. While Silent Departure is a solid choice for its efficiency and flexibility with flashback, some decks may prefer more versatile options like Unsummon or Vapor Snag for their lower mana cost and instant speed. However, Silent Departure could still see play in decks looking for a repeatable bounce effect with the potential for late-game value through its flashback ability.

Rules

19/03/21

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.

19/03/21

You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.

19/03/21

“Flashback [cost]” means “You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost” and “If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack.”
