Edit Article

The Mono White Legends deck forgoes the flexibility of using traditional Humans staples in favor of focusing on legendary creatures with strong abilities, enabling Mox Amber for more explosive turns, with sequences of cards like Zack Fair to Adeline, Resplendent Cathar or Cosmogrand Zenith on the following turn.

The Decklist

This list follows the pattern of versions that have appeared in recent Magic Online Leagues. Some slots, such as Haliya, Guided by Light, Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior or Cosmogrand Zenith can be expanded or reduced, depending on the matchups you expect to face.

Although this is a legend deck, we need some non-legendary creatures that interact with Humans and/or have good individual quality.

Recruitment Officer complements the one-drops and has a mid-game ability that guarantees more resources each turn.

Thalia’s Lieutenant and Coppercoat Vanguard increase the power of our creatures. Vanguard also offers some protection, while Lieutenant interacts with Arachne, Psionic Weaver to reuse its ETB.

Cosmogrand Zenith also has good interactions with Web-Slinging and takes advantage of Mox Amber and cheap cards to increase the power of all creatures on the board.

Legendary one-drops are essential to enable Mox Amber early.

Zack Fair doesn't have the best body for attacking, but it protects our creatures against traditional removal while also interacting with Thalia's Lieutenant and Cosmogrand Zenith.

Kytheon, Hero of Akros has an aggressive early-game body, protects itself, and its Planeswalker side becomes a powerful win condition in attrition matches.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben punishes greedy archetypes with non-creature spells, such as Azorius Control, Izzet Phoenix, and Prowess lists, and also delays removal spells.

Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior holds the clock for other aggressive decks. Essential against Cori-Steel Cutter and Red Aggro, but also works against Convoke, Spirits, and Humans.

Spectacular Spider-Man has a body with evasion while protecting our creatures from Supreme Verdict and other removal spells.

Arachne, Psionic Weaver interacts with ETB effects and with Cosmogrand Zenith, in addition to having another taxing effect that complements Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Coppercoat Vanguard.

Haliya, Guided by Light's main function is to slow down the Aggro clock a bit and also works as an extra one-drop for explosive turns with Mox Amber, which can be used later as a threat. The draw effect is rare without Cosmogrand Zenith, but serves as a relevant bonus.

Declaration in Stone is our board interaction and deals with multiple Cori-Steel Cutter tokens and copies of Arclight Phoenix.

Mox Amber is the reason this deck exists. The extra mana we generate with it when we have a legendary creature in play guarantees more explosive turns and an unconditional ramp to jump from one mana to three at the early game.

Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire also benefits from the legendary creatures we have to become removal against attacking creatures while also guaranteeing our land drops. Four copies might be overkill, so don't be afraid to reduce it to three and add another Plains or Air Nomad Temple.

Mutavault provides more resilience against sweepers and another body on the board to pressure the opponent with Thalia’s Lieutenant and Coppercoat Vanguard, while Cavern of Souls protects our creatures from counterspells — again, we can reduce one copy and exchange it for a Plains or another utility land.

Wedding Announcement is our tool for attrition games and provides more bodies when we are behind in board position and card advantage when we are ahead, as well as functioning as another massive power boost for our cards — and one that is much harder for our opponent to interact with.

Extraction Specialist reuses one of our creatures that has been destroyed. It has great interaction with Thalia’s Lieutenant, but also works with Spectacular Spider-Man.

Loran of the Third Path deals with artifacts and enchantments that have become common in the Metagame, from Unholy Annex to Cori-Steel Cutter, including Artist’s Talent, Monument to Endurance, Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, among others.

The extra copies of Spectacular Spider-Man and Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior add consistency in games where they are most needed.

Seam Rip deals with small threats, Cori-Steel Cutter and Witch’s Oven with the same card. It complements Declaration in Stone against Aggro but has greater scope in other matchups.

Split Up is our sweeper choice in Aggro mirror matches, being another tool against Cori-Steel that also resolves the most explosive turns of Mono Red. We can also use it to clear the board of larger threats that bypass our blockers.

Rest in Peace is the best graveyard hate we can run on most matchups where this effect matters.. Essential against Izzet Phoenix, Greasefang, Ygra, Eater of All, among others.
