In Commander, you'll often see decks with two, three, four, and even five colors that are still consistent and powerful. They bring the best their color combinations have to offer.
It is a fact that the more colors you use in a deck, the more challenging it is building it. To help you with this task, besides the many deck techs we created featuring the most various and fun commanders from each set, we're bringing you the top removals, card draw, ramp, and planeswalkers in each color. Many of them are already available, so please give them a chance!

How We Picked the Best Multicolored Spot Removals
To select these cards, we analyzed how much each spell costs, their speed, versatility, and how popular they are in EDHRec (after all, the community is always right).
For the other rankings, we brought you the best removals in each color, but this article was definitely more challenging because the sky is the limit when it comes to multicolored decks.
To be as fair as we possibly can, we decided to rank cards that interact with permanents higher than cards that just target creatures or artifacts. And, of course, if their conditions are easier to meet, they also get higher rankings.

Top 10 Multicolored Spot Removals
10. Putrefy
Let's open our list with a Golgari removal! Putrefy is an instant that removes a target artifact creature for just three mana.
This uncommon card earned a spot in our list because of how cheap it is and how efficient its effect is, and I'm sure it has earned a spot in many black and green decks as well. For instance, to the day this article is written, the data on EDHRec states that more than 150 thousand decks registered use this card.
Furthermore, it is easy to find because it is an uncommon card.
9. Aura Shards
Only those who have faced Selesnya Tokens know how Aura Shards can hurt.
This enchantment's ability triggers whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control: it lets you destroy a target artifact or enchantment.
As its text states, "you may destroy" a target, if there are no valid targets for this ability, you don't need to destroy your own artifacts or enchantments.
This enchantment stands out in decks that constantly put creatures in play, like token decks, but it is also great in Blink decks.
8. Bedevil
The first Rakdos removal is here! Bedevil lets you destroy an artifact, creature, or planeswalker.
You know that opponent that is almost using Vraska, Betrayal's Sting's -9? With this card, they're no problem at all.
Getting rid of a planeswalker is already great; it is even better at instant speed!
If there are no planeswalkers on the board, this removal still works against artifacts or creatures. It is definitely a must for Rakdos decks.
7. Void Rend
A three-color removal? Check! Void Rend is an Esper removal that can't be countered and destroys a nonland target permanent. So, if your opponent can't protect their cards, they will be destroyed.
Ad
Counterspell and Negate are worthless against this spell! If Void Rend only had two colors, it would probably be one of the most popular removals in this format.
6. Decimate
Decimate is very popular in Gruul decks, but its text has a catch.
You can only cast this spell if all the targets described in the card are in play (an artifact, creature, enchantment, and land - which can be basic or not), and they must all be valid for this spell in particular.
If you only want to remove one creature, for instance, you'll still have to target other permanents to destroy that creature. If you pick a permanent with multiple card types (like an artifact creature, for instance), you can target it as a creature and artifact, and then select other targets as usual.
5. Casualties of War
Usually, you'll cast Casualties of War and deal with practically any issue you're facing. As its text states that you can pick one or more options, you can simply destroy an artifact, creature, enchantment, land, and/or planeswalker all at once.
Unfortunately, it is a bit expensive to cast and is definitely terrible if you just want to remove a single artifact. However, if you want to target multiple cards, Casualties of War removes five permanents for six mana in total.
4. Vindicate
Finally, we're discussing Orzhov removals. Vindicate is a sorcery that destroys a target permanent. You'll need three mana to cast it and get rid of a land, creature, planeswalker, artifact, enchantment, or battle.
And the best part: you don't have to give anything to that permanent's controller, as is the case for Beast Within, which creates a 3/3 Beast token for the player who lost their permanent.
3. Assassin's Trophy
Another Golgari removal makes its way into our list! Assassin's Trophy is an instant that destroys a target permanent controlled by an opponent for just . Next, that permanent's controller can look for a basic land in their deck and put it in play - just like Path to Exile.
As an instant, this card is already great. However, when you realize it destroys any permanent, it gets even better!
You'll hardly cast Assassin's Trophy and get sad about it, as it truly does its job (removing a resource from an enemy) really well.
2. Anguished Unmaking
You know what's better than destroying a problematic target permanent? Exiling it. Anguished Unmaking's strategy is simple: it gets rid of any issue you're facing in your Commander match.
For three mana, you can exile a nonland permanent and then lose three life. Three life to get rid of a threat is not really worrying in casual Commander matches, as we start with 40 life in those.
This instant is the answer you want in your hand if your opponent starts casting creatures like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, which, besides incredibly strong, is indestructible. It is even efficient against noncreature threats, like Avacyn's Memorial or Blightsteel Colossus, which are complicated to remove.

1. Utter End
The best spot multicolored spot removal is Utter End! Have you ever heard someone say, "an Orzhov exile hurts"? If not, then you haven't lost a permanent to Utter End.
Utter End is an instant that exiles a nonland target permanent and doesn't do anything else for your opponent (like giving them life or letting them look for a land). They also don't do anything else to you (like forcing you to lose life).
Besides its incredible effect, the first version of this card includes a flavor text that really matches what it does:
"I came seeking a challenge. All I found was you."
Final Words
The last article in a series is always the most complicated to write. We usually research many cards to create these articles, from the simplest to the most complex, and this forces us to expand our Magic: The Gathering knowledge as players and content creators. This article was no different.
As we researched card after card, we considered many of them for these rankings, removed them (even in our personal rankings and decks!), and swapped their positions.
