Mindseeker Oculus는 Jace 토큰을 보호하고 활용할 수 있는 청색 기반 컨트롤, 템포, 또는 증식/슈퍼프렌즈 덱에 가장 잘 어울릴 것이다. 단 \(2U\)만으로 몸체 하나와 충성도 4의 플레인즈워커를 사실상 제공하며, 이 플레인즈워커는 반복해서 감시하고 카드를 얻는 데 사용할 수 있으므로, 드로를 다듬고 장기전 가치를 만들어 내는 데 탁월하다. 증식 효과, 토큰 복사, 또는 플레인즈워커가 전장에 들어오거나 죽을 때 보상을 주는 카드들과 함께라면 특히 매력적이다. 하지만 그 위력은 Oculus의 누락된 공격력/방어력과, 맞춤형 Jace 토큰이 강화되기 전에 충성도 없이 전장에 들어오도록 의도되었는지 여부에 크게 좌우된다. 일반적인 Magic 기준으로는, 이는 아마도 많은 3마나 가치 생물보다 강력하다. 지속적인 카드 선택/가치 측면에서 Fblthp, the Lost나 Cloudkin Seer 같은 카드보다 강하며, 몸체가 조금이라도 의미 있다면 Fable of the Mirror-Breaker 같은 플레인즈워커 생성 카드와 경쟁할 수 있다. 다만 템포 덱의 Ledger Shredder나 전용 컨트롤 덱의 Narset, Parter of Veils 같은 검증된 프리미엄 3마나 카드보다 반드시 더 좋은 것은 아니다. 규칙이 쓰인 대로 작동하고 생물이 적절한 능력치를 가졌다고 가정하면, 분명히 사용될 것이며, 모든 청색 덱에 들어가는 범용 필수 카드라기보다는 강력한 엔진 카드가 될 가능성이 높다.

Empower Jace won't let you put loyalty counters on nontoken Jace planeswalkers. However, if you control a Jace planeswalker token that you got another way (such as an effect that creates a token that's a copy of a permanent), empower Jace will put loyalty counters on that.

If you control a Jace planeswalker token, you can't choose to create a new one when you empower Jace. You have to put the loyalty counters on your existing Jace planeswalker token. In the rare case that you control multiple Jace planeswalker tokens, you'll choose one of those tokens to put the loyalty counters on.

Some spells and abilities that empower Jace may require targets. If each target chosen is an illegal target as that spell or ability tries to resolve, it won't resolve. You won't empower Jace.

To empower Jace N, if you don't control a Jace planeswalker token, create a blue Jace planeswalker token with 0 loyalty, "[−1]: Surveil 1," and "[−3]: Draw a card." Choose a Jace planeswalker token you control. Put N loyalty counters on it.
