About Aboroth
Aboroth, Creature — elemental, designed by Brom first released in Jun, 1997 in the set Weatherlight. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of € 0.87.
This card could be beneficial in a green-based deck that focuses on ramping up mana quickly to be able to consistently pay the cumulative upkeep cost of Aboroth. However, there are better options available in terms of efficiency and power level, such as Phyrexian Dreadnought, which offers a more immediate impact for its cost. Overall, Aboroth may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its high upkeep cost and the availability of stronger alternatives.
Rules
01/10/08
Paying cumulative upkeep is always optional. If it’s not paid, the permanent with cumulative upkeep is sacrificed. Partial payments of the total cumulative upkeep cost can’t be made. For example, if a permanent with “cumulative upkeep ” has three age counters on it when its cumulative upkeep ability triggers, it gets another age counter and then its controller chooses to either pay or sacrifice the permanent.
