DOEL. Labs zouden het beste passen in een langzamer blauw-zwart (Dimir) control-, midrange- of Commander-deck dat waarde hecht aan incrementele levenswinst en het niet erg vindt dat landen worden afgeluisterd, vooral in formaten waarbij het extra leven enigszins kan bufferen tegen agressieve strategieën. In de meeste competitieve formaten zou het echter als ondermaats worden beschouwd, omdat het in feite een slechtere **Dismal Backwater** is, met dezelfde tekst “enters getikt, winst 1 leven, voeg {U} of {B}” toe en er al maar beperkt wordt gespeeld; nog betere opties zijn **Underground River**, **Darkslick Shores**, **Watery Grave**, **Shipwreck Marsh** en **Clearwater Pathway**, die allemaal blauwzwarte mana opleveren met minder nadelen. Omdat moderne manabases sterk geoptimaliseerd zijn en het tempo van cruciaal belang is, is A.I.M. Labs zouden waarschijnlijk alleen spel zien in budget-builds, informele decks of beperkte omgevingen, in plaats van in competitieve geconstrueerde f
