Auramancer zou nuttig zijn in een kaartspel dat voor zijn strategie sterk afhankelijk is van betoveringen, zoals een op betoveringen gebaseerde controle of een gevangenisdek. Terwijl Auramancer waarde biedt door terugkerende betoveringen van het kerkhof, bieden andere kaarten zoals Eternal Witness of Monk Idealist vergelijkbare effecten met meer veelzijdigheid of efficiëntie, waardoor ze mogelijk betere keuzes zijn, afhankelijk van de behoeften van het kaartspel.
