Een kaartspel dat zich richt op het uitspreken van meerdere spreuken van het gekozen type zou baat hebben bij Cloud Key, omdat het de kosten van die spreuken verlaagt, waardoor efficiënter kan worden gespeeld. Andere kaarten zoals Semblance Anvil of Helm of Awakening kunnen echter vergelijkbare of betere kostenbesparingsvoordelen bieden, afhankelijk van de strategie van het kaartspel. Cloud Key zou spel kunnen zien in decks die de kostenefficiëntie en consistentie van spellcasts willen maximaliseren.
