Een kaartspel dat zich richt op tribale Slivers in Magic: the Gathering zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Harmonic Sliver, omdat het waardevolle verwijdering biedt voor artefacten en betoveringen bij het betreden van het slagveld. Een efficiëntere kaart zoals Reclamation Sage, die hetzelfde effect heeft voor één mana minder, kan in sommige gevallen echter de voorkeur hebben, waardoor Harmonic Sliver minder optimaal is voor competitief spel, tenzij de tribale synergie van Sliver cruciaal is voor de strategie van het kaartspel.
