Jhessian Thief zou een geweldige aanvulling zijn op een op blauw gebaseerd tempo- of controledek dat tot doel heeft veel niet-wezensspreuken uit te spreken om zijn bekwaamheid te activeren en kaarten te trekken. Hoewel het kaartvoordeel kan opleveren en in kracht kan groeien, zijn er potentieel betere opties zoals Delver of Secrets of Snapcaster Mage die een directere impact of veelzijdigheid bieden. Jhessian Thief kon echter nog steeds spel zien in kaartspellen die kaartvoordeel wilden genereren en de aanwezigheid op het bord wilden behouden door middel van gevechtsschadetriggers.

Any spell you cast that doesn’t have the type creature will cause prowess to trigger. If a spell has multiple types, and one of those types is creature (such as an artifact creature), casting it won’t cause prowess to trigger. Playing a land also won’t cause prowess to trigger.

Once it triggers, prowess isn’t connected to the spell that caused it to trigger. If that spell is countered, prowess will still resolve.
