Een controle- of combodeck dat tot doel heeft de spelplannen van tegenstanders te verstoren en te profiteren van gratis spreuken, zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Knowledge Pool. Er zijn echter betere kaarten met vergelijkbare effecten, zoals Eye of the Storm, die voor nog meer chaos en complexiteit in het spel kunnen zorgen. Of Knowledge Pool spel moet zien, hangt af van de specifieke strategie en synergie van het kaartspel, omdat het in de juiste context een krachtig hulpmiddel kan zijn.

If the original spell isn’t exiled (perhaps because it’s countered by another spell or ability before Knowledge Pool’s second triggered ability resolves), the rest of the ability does nothing. The player doesn’t get to cast an exiled card.

Timing restrictions based on the card’s type are ignored. For example, you can cast an exiled creature card this way. Other restrictions, such as Spinal Embrace’s “Cast Spinal Embrace only during combat” are not ignored.
