Tarpan would be a good fit for a green deck focused on gaining life and utilizing creatures that provide value upon death. However, there are better options like Thragtusk, which not only gains you life but also leaves behind a powerful creature when it dies. While Tarpan may not be a top-tier card, it could still see play in casual or budget decks looking to gain incremental life advantage.
