Turn Aside zou nuttig zijn in een controledek dat zich richt op het beschermen van belangrijke permanenten tegen verwijdering of verstoring. Hoewel het een solide optie is vanwege de lage manakosten en het specifieke vermogen om spreuken tegen te gaan, zijn er betere alternatieven zoals Negate of Spell Pierce die meer veelzijdigheid bieden bij het tegengaan van een breder scala aan spreuken. Turn Aside zou echter nog steeds kunnen spelen in specifieke metagames waarbij het beschermen van belangrijke permanents cruciaal is.

Turn Aside can target a spell that has multiple targets, as long as at least one of those targets is a permanent you control.
