Keep Safe zou een waardevolle toevoeging zijn aan een controle- of tempodeck in Magic: the Gathering, omdat het bescherming biedt voor je belangrijkste permanents en zichzelf ook vervangt door het trekken van kaarten. Hoewel het misschien niet de krachtigste tegenspell is die er is, maken de lage kosten en het extra kaartvoordeel het een solide keuze voor kaartspellen die de aanwezigheid op het bord en het kaartvoordeel willen behouden. Er zou gespeeld kunnen worden in kaartspellen die waarde hechten aan bescherming en het trekken van kaarten, maar er kunnen meer veelzijdige of krachtige tegenspreuken zijn die kunnen worden overwogen, afhankelijk van de specifieke strategie van het kaartspel.

A spell that can’t be countered is a legal target for Keep Safe. That spell won’t be countered when Keep Safe resolves, but you’ll still draw a card.

If the permanent you control targeted by the target spell leaves the battlefield, that spell is no longer a legal target for Keep Safe. On the other hand, if that target permanent becomes an illegal target for the target spell but remains on the battlefield under your control, the target spell is still a legal target for Keep Safe.
