I don't get it, wouldn't this just see 2 of the same land types and just fizzle out?

Hi Mike! Yes, you need to have 1 maximum of each card in your deck. It is a cEDH combo, so it is more easy to make your deck: you just don't put more than 2 basic of each (you can have the snow and normal basic)

You can even play Pact in response to Oracle's Triggered ability and avoid an awkward situation when they would counter Oracle and your library is exiled. A very efficient combo, a variant of the Consultation Version.
