About Deep Analysis

Deep Analysis, Sorcery, designed by Daren Bader first released in Feb, 2002 in the set Torment and was printed exactly in 25 different ways. It see play in 3 formats: Pauper, Commander and Premodern. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.44.

A deck that focuses on card advantage and control strategies would benefit from including Deep Analysis, as it provides a way to draw additional cards and potentially outvalue the opponent. However, there are better options available such as Ancestral Recall, which is considered one of the most powerful draw spells in Magic: The Gathering. While Deep Analysis can be a solid inclusion in certain decks, it may not see as much play compared to more efficient draw spells like Ancestral Recall.

Rules

03/19/21

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.

03/19/21

You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.

03/19/21

“Flashback [cost]” means “You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost” and “If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack.”
