Spoiler Highlight: Up the Beanstalk in Standard, Pioneer and Modern

Up the Beanstalk is an enchantment from Wilds of Eldraine which has two abilities. The first is triggered any time it enters the battlefield and allows you to draw a card. The second allows you to draw a card any time you cast a spell with a value of 5 mana or more.

Its low cost and color make it the perfect engine for decks which want to abuse high-cost spells, and it has great potential in many formats.

In today's article, I'll discuss the strategies which can take advantage of this card, as well as possible lists using Up the Beanstalk.

Atraxa Ramp is a deck that can really benefit from the arrival of this card. The deck lost Fable of the Mirror-Breaker in the last announcement for banned and restricted cards, and had to be reviewed, but it ended up losing a bit of space in the format.

With Up the Beanstalk, the deck can access a new card advantage engine, creating synergy with each spell with a value of 5 mana or more that is cast.

Atraxa, Grand Unifier and Leyline Binding stand out due to the synergy with Up the Beanstalk, with Atraxa creating extra advantage when cast and Leyline drawing a card and removing a threat for one mana in many situations.

Pioneer has decks which use powerful bombs in the form of enchantments and creatures. Fires of Invention decks can use well Up the Beanstalk, particularly the version with Yorion, Sky Nomad.

The main idea focuses on Fires of Invention and Enigmatic Incarnation. Fires of Invention allows you to cast only two spells per turn, and only on your turn, but you can cast spells with mana value less than or equal to the number of lands you control without paying their mana costs. Enigmatic Incarnation is another enchantment which cheats out mana, allowing you to sacrifice an enchantment to look for a creature in your deck and place it on board.

Up the Beanstalk really fits this deck, serving as a source of card advantage and allowing this deck to catch its breath, or even as fuel for Enigmatic Incarnation.

Yorion is also a great way to maximize Up the Beanstalk's effect, as you'll be able to draw a card when casting it, and you can draw another card if you chose the enchantment as Yorion's ETB target.

Up the Beanstalk can also fit in Modern's 4C Omnath well. This deck also uses Leyline Binding and uses the incarnations. Fury and Solitude are elementals which, besides their own abilities and effects, can create extra card draw when cast.

The deck already uses The One Ring, which is one of its card advantage sources, but I believe that a new enchantment might come in as a new source of value, and even become a more accessible option to play in this slot in case you can't acquire The One Ring yet.

Up the Beanstalk is another interesting addition that comes with Wilds of Eldraine, and it shows potential for constructed formats. In Standard, ramp decks get a replacement for Fable of the Mirror-Breaker. Pioneer gets a new interaction for big mana decks, just like Modern.
