About Impact Resonance

Impact Resonance, Instant, designed by Jesper Ejsing first released in Nov, 2014 in the set Commander 2014 and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 8.38.

Impact Resonance would be a great addition to a red aggressive deck that focuses on dealing high amounts of damage quickly. It could be particularly effective in a deck that includes cards that can deal significant damage in a single turn, such as burn spells or creatures with powerful abilities. While Impact Resonance has potential, other cards like Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning may offer more flexibility and efficiency in terms of damage output for a similar cost, making them potentially better options for competitive play. However, Impact Resonance could still see play in certain niche strategies or casual decks looking for a unique way to deal damage.

Rules

11/07/14

If Impact Resonance has multiple targets, and some, but not all, of them become illegal before Impact Resonance resolves, Impact Resonance will still deal damage to the remaining legal targets according to the original damage division.

11/07/14

You determine the value for X and announce how damage will be divided as you cast Impact Resonance. Each chosen target must receive at least 1 damage. Once the value of X is determined, it won’t change, even if a source deals a greater amount of damage before Impact Resonance resolves. (Most of the time, the value of X in an effect would be determined only as the spell resolves. However, the rules state that if damage needs to be “divided,” that information is checked as the spell is put on the stack.)
