The Mine Layer card could be beneficial in a red control or land destruction deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a way to disrupt your opponent's mana base by destroying their lands when they tap them. However, there are more efficient land destruction cards available, such as Stone Rain or Molten Rain, which can destroy lands without the need for counters.
