Hey guys, my name is Mateus de Carvalho (Black) and this is my first article for HG TEAM. I will address Brad Barclay's victory at the Zendikar Rising Championship and bring a sideguide from the deck.
In the last Zendikar Rising Championship we had a Top 8 Historic full of decks that we were already expected there. Among the decks we had the incredible Sultai with all its responses and threats; the 4 Color variants piloted by popular players like Andrea Mengucci and Brad Nelson; the Goblins deck piloted by Autumn Burchett, which has become the one of the top players and bringing incredible representativeness into the game; and, finally, the Champion playing UW control: Brad Barclay.

Since the beginning of the Top 8, we have followed narrators and commentators saying that UW was not their favorite and would not be their choice for this top 8.
But with so many people betting against and discrediting, why did Brad become champion? It's simple, and that's one of the reasons why Magic is so incredible: it used all available resources and showed an unmatched quality of control players, playing calmly and keeping the games always within reach, and became the tournament underdog.
And here is the list of the champion:
After playing a bit with the list and rewatching Brad's matchups, I've come up with the following sideboard guide:
