About Corpseweaver Prodigy
Corpseweaver Prodigy, Creature — treefolk warlock, designed by Filip Burburan first released in May, 2026 in the set Alchemy: Secrets of Strixhaven.
Corpseweaver Prodigy would fit best in a black midrange or control deck that leverages graveyard denial and incidental life gain, especially in formats where opposing graveyard strategies (reanimator, dredge, aristocrats) are common; its static exile effect acts as repeatable graveyard hate, while the Infusion ability synergizes with lifegain enablers (like lifelink creatures or Blood Artist–style effects) to fuel Bridge from Below for token value in sacrifice shells. However, at three mana, it competes with stronger and more efficient graveyard hate options such as Leyline of the Void (free and harder to remove), Dauthi Voidwalker (adds pressure and card advantage), or even Graveyard Trespasser (which provides immediate value and resilience), making it likely too slow or low-impact for high-powered formats like Modern or Legacy; it could be playable in slower Standard or Commander environments that support lifegain–sacrifice synergies, but overall it would be niche rather than staple
