About Deadly Alliance

Deadly Alliance, Instant, designed by Kieran Yanner first released in Sep, 2020 in the set Zendikar Rising and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.27.

A deck that focuses on assembling a diverse party of Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, and Wizard creatures would benefit most from including Deadly Alliance, as it can potentially be cast for a reduced cost or even for free with a full party. However, in a competitive Magic: The Gathering environment, there may be more efficient removal spells available, such as Fatal Push or Murder, which could offer more consistent and immediate value. While Deadly Alliance has its niche uses, it may not see widespread play in optimized decks due to its reliance on party mechanics and the availability of stronger removal options.

Rules

09/25/20

An ability referring to the number of creatures in your party gets a number from zero to four. Such abilities never ask which creatures are in your party, and you never have to designate specific creatures as being in your party. You can’t choose to exclude creatures from this count to lower the number.

09/25/20

If a spell has a cost reduction based on the number of creatures in your party, no player may attempt to change that number after you begin to cast the spell but before you pay the cost.

09/25/20

To determine “the number of creatures in your party,” check whether you control a Cleric, whether you control a Rogue, whether you control a Warrior, and whether you control a Wizard. The number is the total number of those checks to which you answered yes. Each creature you control can be counted for only one of those checks.
