Decoy Ploy would fit best in a black midrange or graveyard-recursion deck built around both Hero and Villain creature types, especially in formats or custom environments where those creature types have strong enter-the-battlefield effects, sacrifice synergies, or combo potential, since being able to return one or both for just 1B at instant speed offers solid flexibility and card advantage; it’s particularly appealing in grindy matchups where recurring key threats matters. That said, in most established formats there are stronger and more efficient recursion spells like **Unearth** (cheaper and cantrips), **Reanimate** (puts the creature directly onto the battlefield), **Agadeem’s Awakening**, **Call of the Death-Dweller**, or even **Raise Dead**-style effects if you only need one creature, meaning Decoy Ploy would mainly shine in a synergistic tribal deck that consistently has both types in the graveyard—otherwise it’s likely too narrow to see competitive play but could be solid in ca
