Makeshift Binding would be beneficial in a control or midrange deck looking to temporarily remove a threatening creature while gaining some life. However, there are more efficient removal options available in white, such as Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares, which offer permanent removal at a lower cost. Makeshift Binding could see play in limited formats where removal options are limited, but in constructed formats, it may not be the most optimal choice.
