This card would be beneficial in a ramp or mana-heavy deck that focuses on generating and storing large amounts of green mana. Decks that aim to produce excess mana and utilize it for powerful spells or abilities would greatly benefit from Omnath, Locus of Mana's ability to retain unspent green mana and grow in power based on the amount of mana stored. While there may be other cards that offer similar benefits, Omnath's unique ability to scale in strength with unspent mana makes it a strong contender for inclusion in decks that can efficiently generate and manage green mana resources. Overall, this card could see play in strategies that prioritize mana ramp and resource management.

Rules

03/01/10

Once Omnath leaves the battlefield, you have until the end of the current step or phase to spend whatever green mana is in your mana pool before it too empties as normal. There is no penalty associated with this other than the loss of the mana.

03/01/10

You can keep green mana in your mana pool indefinitely while Omnath is on the battlefield. That means if you add a green mana to your mana pool during one step or phase, you can spend it during a later step or phase, or even a later turn. Other types of mana will continue to empty from your mana pool as each step and phase ends.
