A deck that focuses on casting a lot of creature spells would benefit from Planar Gate, as it helps reduce the cost of those spells, allowing for more creatures to be played faster. However, there are better cards like Urza's Incubator which reduces the cost of all creature spells by 2, making it more efficient in creature-heavy decks. Planar Gate could still see play in decks looking for additional cost reduction options or in casual play for its unique effect.
